Last weekend I went to Winston Salem for a high school friend's engagement party! Here are some pictures from the party!

Exciting weekend!

What an exciting weekend I have coming up...home to Salisbury, party in Winston-Salem, and a Duke vs Va Tech at Duke!

I leave Saturday morning to head to Salisbury for the day. My family will be celebrating my mom's birthday with dinner at DJ's! DJ's for all you non-Salisburians is a very good Greek/Italian restaurant. I will also try to get some College BBQ while I'm there...a staple in my diet!
Cheerwine is also a staple to my diet...a Salisbury company!!!

Saturday night I will be heading to Winston-Salem for a engagement party for two high school friends! Mark and Allison (soon to be Doby) have been dating since high school and truly love each other! The party will be at Foothills Brewery, which I've never been to, but my big brother (who lives in Winston) is a fan! I am staying with my brother Saturday night! Slumber party!!! (family picture...3 years ago!)

Sunday night I will be attending Duke vs Virginia Tech at Cameron Indoor! This is exciting to me even though I'm suppose to be a Carolina fan. I'm excited for the atmosphere! I assure you I will not be dressed like these crazies though...

As for today...Dr appt to check out why my hip is killing me after falling on ice a week ago! The pain went away...now has returned but different pain...argh! Am I falling apart at 25? Happy Friday to all!!!

Updates..

So what does it mean if snow sticks around for over a week? I grew up hearing that snow that stuck around is waiting for more! Ekk! I'm so over the cold! It's rainy and cold outside today but still snow is present on the deck....and flower beds by my house! I really hope it doesn't snow more! :-(

Kyla moved in! It's nice to see furniture in the 3rd bedroom and not hear a echo when you walk around the room. It's also nice to have someone else around.

Growing up in the country...I participated in these crazy stunts in the snow....but now being a Neurosurgery ICU nurse and seeing all the brain injuries I see...I think these things aren't so smart! I tell people I work with, there is no way I didn't get a brain injury growing up!

It's a Test!!!

So while at the grocery store today in this snowy weather, I got to thinking...poor birds...they can't find any worms in the 2-4 inches of snow thats on the ground! I'd hate to be a starving bird right now!

A year or so ago, while talking "normal person" talk with a patients family at work, I was told that mixing Cayenne pepper into bird seed will keep squirrels away! Perfect!!! I love feeding the birds (not in a creepy bird lady way), but it's something I got from my father. He always fed the birds, as did his parents.



So today while at the store I bought some bird seed and a Hot Chili Pepper...no cayenne pepper to be found at Harris Tetter...maybe it's not in season...who knows! I cut up the pepper in 4 pieces and added some powdered cayenne pepper and put it in the bird feed...so we'll see if this keep the squirrels away! The squirrels always make such a mess with the feed!

CUPCAKES!

I never made cupcakes growing up..always focused on cakes and cookies...but aren't they just darling! These are Red Velvet Cupcakes by Jancie Webb..I mean Martha Stewart! They are going to work...it's a bribe to get people to come to a meeting that has low turn out!

And...I'm so impressed with my frosting...it turned out fabulous!!!
