Redneck sledding

Growing up in the country...I participated in these crazy stunts in the snow....but now being a Neurosurgery ICU nurse and seeing all the brain injuries I see...I think these things aren't so smart! I tell people I work with, there is no way I didn't get a brain injury growing up!

Redneck Snowmobile?

How else do you go fast on a sled...

pulled by the four wheeler?!?

Find the tractor...

Or...Just get the horse from the barn!

This is just crazy!!! Along with "car surfing"...that patient didn't turn out so well...

No sled? No problem!!!
Get the Rubber-maid container!

Just pull out the kiddie pool....

Sled Scooter?

Hopefully everyone had safe and fun sledding experiences!!!

It's a Test!!!

So while at the grocery store today in this snowy weather, I got to thinking...poor birds...they can't find any worms in the 2-4 inches of snow thats on the ground! I'd hate to be a starving bird right now!

A year or so ago, while talking "normal person" talk with a patients family at work, I was told that mixing Cayenne pepper into bird seed will keep squirrels away! Perfect!!! I love feeding the birds (not in a creepy bird lady way), but it's something I got from my father. He always fed the birds, as did his parents.

So today while at the store I bought some bird seed and a Hot Chili Pepper...no cayenne pepper to be found at Harris Tetter...maybe it's not in season...who knows! I cut up the pepper in 4 pieces and added some powdered cayenne pepper and put it in the bird feed...so we'll see if this keep the squirrels away! The squirrels always make such a mess with the feed!

It's a Test!!! Will report back soon!!!

C25K

I looked at the C25K training program awhile back and thought that'd be cool...but never did anything about it. I'm trying to be more active and trying to make it to the gym at least 3 days a week right now. This morning I was planning on doing the BodyStep class at the gym...but I forgot I had a appointment to have my car checked out. So...instead I decided to do the C25K program. I started today and guess what...I survived!!!

It's really neat...plus I have this awesome application on my Iphone that imports your Ipod music in and it tells you when to walk and when to run! Pretty snazzy!

The program conditions you to be able to run a 5K in 9 weeks! I've always wanted to start running...but never had luck with it!

Check it out...

There is a 5K race in Carrboro NC, March 20th 2010 to benefit Kidney Education Outreach Program...maybe this will be my first of many....:-)

Took Liz and Ben to Salisbury for the weekend...
Dated and broke up
Joined Match.com
Had a few dates...will continue in 2010

Merry Christmas!!!

I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas where ever you are this season! I am spending my Christmas in Salisbury with family and friends. It is a busy day full of love, friends, family, food, gifts etc.

I wanted to share a picture of the snowman my brother and his wife made! They live in Winston Salem, NC and they got close to a foot of snow the other week! Defiantly better than the snowmen I tried to make!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Snowflake

After looking for different patterns and trying out a few, I found a great pattern that made this beautiful snowflake!!! I'm proud of how it turned out!
